Ruth has worked in fundraising since 2004. For the first nine years of her career she worked at the RSPB, where she led the insight team and delivered a wide range of projects from brand research through to building a single supporter view of data. Since 2013, Ruth has run her own agency BoldLight, which specialises in understanding and building support from charity audiences. At BoldLight, Ruth has helped charities such as Kidney Research UK identify and understand new supporters, WWT design new experiences for connecting children with nature and Alzheimer’s Research UK launch a new website. Ruth is a member of the CIoF Insight special interest group committee and delivers training in how to carry out and communicate insight work in the charity sector. Ruth is also a member of the British Psychological Society.
